How do you actually test hosts?

We sign up as a paying customer (not a review account), install a stock WordPress site, run 20-visit London-server latency samples, run Lighthouse on desktop and mobile, and file at least two real support tickets to time response. Methodology is on each review post.

Are these reviews affiliate-driven?

Every review post has an Amber affiliate disclosure bar above the fold naming which links pay us a commission. The verdict is written from test data, not from the commission size. When we would recommend a competitor over the affiliate, we say so.

What is the fastest WordPress host for UK sites?

Kinsta wins on TTFB from a London server with their Google Cloud C2 machines. WP Engine is close behind. SiteGround GoGeek is fast enough for most sites. Fasthosts and Cloudways depend on the underlying server location; both can be fast if configured well.
